More often than not the thought of a young person starting up in business is not thought of as a reality. Furthering their education, employment or unemployment are usually the only three options, however there is a fourth option becoming an entrepreneur.
Kent Foundation has supported many young entrepreneurs since 1985 when the charity was first launched over 30 years ago. We offer a wide range of support services in order to help their business to grow. It is important to recognise that starting and running a business is not always easy and support is necessary to help young people recognise/realise their potential.
It’s a bit of a show, a bit of fun and a great way to meet new people and get those business ideas buzzing. Our main aim is to “Create a business community across Kent”.
Young entrepreneurs are of course the stars of the show. We work hard to create a one of opportunity for aspiring young entrepreneurs to network with established business people and professionals from Kent Business, Local Authorities, Education and of course our Volunteer Business Mentors.
We invite you to come along, meet some young entrepreneurs, talk to them, find out more about their entrepreneurial journey and why they chose business as a career option. We guarantee you will be leaving the evening with a buzz and new found motivation.
In previous years the event was named the ‘Stakeholder Summit’ but in 2012 a massive change came about and we made the event even bigger and better, it even took on it’s own name – A Blast! It had a fantastic turnout with over 150 people in attendance. We received many positive responses towards young people and the support we are providing.
A Blast Is Back! In 2013 the event was even bigger and better with over 200 people attending. We attracted 25 young entrepreneurs to exhibit and showcase their businesses. We really did hit our aim by creating a business community across Kent. Read the story here…
In 2014 we teamed up with the Enterprise Foundation and held a whole host of events throughout the day including the Maidstone Business Breakfast, Workshops on exploring self employment and this was all topped off by A Blast! in the evening which celebrated business in Kent and in particular the young business owners within it.
