Lord Lieutenant's Focus on Youth Day

Lord Lieutenant's Focus on Youth Day.

Saturday 15th May saw a celebration of the achievements of Kent's young people at the County Showground in Maidstone. Kent Foundation was delighted to attend to celebrate all that is good about Kent's young people. Kent Youth Service, Medway Youth Service, the County's voluntary youth organisation and uniformed organisations, joined together to showcase a range of opportunities available to young people.

The event attracted over 500 invited VIP's and young people and was hosted by Allan Willett, CMG, Lord Lieutenant of Kent, Her Majesty the Queen's representative who said "Thanks to our County's great network of youth organisations and services, many young achievers are making great strides in personal development; becoming valuable, more employable citizens and giving them a head start in adult life".

Paul Barron, Director of Kent Foundation said:

"At the Lord Lieutenant's Day, the Kent Foundation conducted a pilot survey with around 100 young people to ascertain their likelihood of starting a business. It was the initiative of a young business person from kent and the Kent Foundation will use the findings to further explore the need for an under 18 year olds business support network."

Kent Foundation helps young people to start up in business and is delighted to help support this new idea.
