Without this our charity would not be able to achieve as much as we do. Our business support is delivered free of charge to Kent’s young people so we can help to grow the economy of Kent, boost employment prospects and provide a supportive network which enables young people to explore, start and grow a business in Kent. Maidstone Borough Council provides specialist free business support and business advice services through Business In Maidstone and The Business Terrace a dynamic, inspiring and highly supportive office environment where you can chat, connect and collaborate with like-minded people plus get free inspiration and advice from experienced onsite business advisors five days a week. The Kent Foundation works in partnership to deliver business startup workshops in Maidstone.
Zoho Creator is an online database builder. It’s an easy to use drag and drop interface that lets businesses create custom applications for every data collection needs, define workflows and also configure business rules that are unique to your business. Zoho have granted The Kent Foundation access to an express license in order to aid the improvement of services the charity offers to young entrepreneurs across the County of Kent. Zoho has enabled our charity to improve efficiency on how we monitor, track and report business support activities, particularly amongst young entrepreneurs in Kent who access our Business Mentoring scheme.
The Kent and Medway Growth Hub forms part of the South East Business Hub, the South East Local Enterprise Partnership’s overarching business support programme, which also supports local hubs in East Sussex and Essex, Southend and Thurrock. We help new and existing businesses find the most suitable type of business support available in their area.

Awards For All – Big Lottery Fund has provided us with funding to run the Edenbridge Enterprise Initiative. In partnership with Target Your Potential we will work with young people aged between 16-25 to provide enhanced life skills, knowledge, confidence and self esteem in order to become gainfully employed or start their own business. The programme consists of interactive workshops after which young people will have the opportunity to participate in monitored work experience or be matched with a trained Business Mentor.
Woodfall Wealth Consultancy provides corporate financial planning and private wealth management to clients based in London and the South East. The company is run by James Woodfall, a Chartered Wealth Manager who has spent 10 years in financial services. The company specialises in advising clients who are engaged in the ownership and management of businesses, who often have complex needs and little time to service them. James has been an avid supporter since the day he met Kent Foundation at an Institute of Directors networking event. James sponsored a fundraising golf day, arranged a £1000 donation through the St James’s Place Foundation and sponsored the refreshments our annual business networking event A Blast!.
Wealden Business Group a Tenterden-based business networking organisation chose The Kent Foundation as their charity of the year for 2014. They they believe in doing everything they can to help young people starting their careers, and supporting those who will own and manage the businesses of tomorrow to become young entrepreneurs. They were busy raising money throughout the year with a series of events, including a black tie dinner and their efforts raised a tremendous £5000.
Whitehead Monckton Charitable Foundation responded positively to a funding application we submitted. The funds received were used to run the Shepway Enterprise Initiative. We ran a local roadshow in order to promote business to young people followed by two full day workshops to increase business and employability skills. We also trained 8 Business Mentors to supply ongoing business support to increase the chance of business success.
Community First responded positively to a joint funding application with The Enterprise Foundation to run a day of employability/enterprise events in Maidstone. A total of 4 events were hosted including: Maidstone Business Breakfast, two startup workshops for the unemployed and students and in the evening A Blast! which is a celebration of young entrepreneurs and business start ups.
Golding Vision is a part of Golding Homes and supports its work in building sustainable communities and improving the life opportunities for its residents. They supplied additional funding for our A Blast! event to make it bigger and better.
My Claim Solved – Made a donation in early 2017 as part of their ongoing commitment to fulfil their corporate social responsibility objectives. They look to partner with incredible charities and organisations and the management team chose The Kent Foundation as one them.
